Community policy
By accessing and using waybroader.com or its associated apps (the “Service”), you accept and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions (“Terms”), taken from our wider terms of use:
The WayBroader community is built around a shared love of the theater and other live shows. Theater brings people and communities together, and WayBroader wants to be a place where people come together and share their love of theater. For this to happen, members of our community have to treat other members with respect and courtesy. This is true even when (perhaps especially when) community members have different backgrounds and experiences.
Everyone has unique taste. If someone didn't enjoy something you enjoyed or found meaningful, you must still treat them with respect and courtesy. Similarly, you don't have to love every show but you need to be respectful of other people's taste and opinions and avoid insulting others who might have enjoyed something you didn't. It takes a lot of guts to go on stage and perform, and performers should also be treated with the respect and not face harassment.
You must not use the Service to abuse, threaten, intimidate, harass, impersonate, or intimidate any other member or performer or crew member or WayBroader staff. You must not request or attempt to solicit personal or identifying information from another member or our team. You can be a hater regarding theater, but hate has no place here. You must not use the Service to promote, engage in or incite hate, violence, discrimination or intolerance, including based on race, age, gender, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation or other protected attribute. We reserve the right to remove content that has the potential to harm values or communities we consider worthy of protection.
You must set the spoiler flag on any review that contains significant plot spoilers. Don't remove spoiler flags if they have been set by our moderators. This applies even for productions that aren't new -- Shakespeare knew his way around a plot twist. WayBroader means to make attending the theater more enjoyable for people; don't ruin the experience for others.
Do not plagiarize other people's reviews. It's fine to reference other reviews where appropriate, but provide attribution. For example, this community policy is heavily inspired by the Letterboxd community policy.
Do not submit false or misleading requests for correction.
We reserve the right to remove any content that we consider to be offensive, objectionable, unlawful, explicit, graphic or otherwise in breach of our terms. We reserve the right to remove content that expressly (or implicitly, such as through coded language, symbols, keywords or tags) praises, supports, promotes or represents white-nationalist or neighboring ideologies. We reserve the right to remove any content that disseminates misinformation, disinformation or related manipulations, including viral sloganeering. We reserve the right to consider a member's off-platform behavior as part of our moderating process. If you do not abide by our Terms, we may terminate or suspend your account.
This policy is a living document: it is constantly updated to reflect new trends and evidence. Our moderating team of humans strives to understand evolving behavior, terms, stereotypes, context and forms of expression.
